Then is 1739, the city again got highlighted when it became the place where Muhammad Shah was defeated by Nadir Shah. The citadel of ancient days, the forts present here were built by Raja Gajpat Singh of Jind.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji Gurudwara- This historical place is the best place to take a halt on your way to Manali for tea and mouth-watering langar. Guru Gobind Singh Ji Gurudwara is situated on the banks of River Sutlej. It is said that after winning the battle of Bhangani, Guru Gobind Singh came here and asked one of the laborers working near the burning kiln for a place to rest. An ignorant person directed Guruji to the kiln without realizing who he was. Guruji went to near the kiln and as soon as he entered it, the kiln suddenly became cool and pleasant. After this incident, a Gurudwara was built here and people from all over the country come to experience the magical aura of this holy place.
